Controlling playback from the device Lock Screen

On devices running Android 4.x (Ice Cream sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat) and earlier, there are 2 types of lock screen controls available - one is the "Android's built in lock screen Media controls" - they are shared between all media apps (e.g. all media apps use the same controls). The other is "BeyondPod Lock Screen Widget" which is a special version of the "large" BeyondPod widget that can be put on the lock screen if your device supports lock screen widgets (not many devices had this support).

Android's built in lock screen Media controls should show automatically when BP is playing as long as:

  1. "Enable Headset Button" is checked in BeyondPod's Player Settings (BeyondPod Settings > Player Settings > Headset Button Actions).
  2. You DON'T have the BeyondPod "lock screen widget" on your lock screen (if your device supports lock screen widgets)

Android 5.0 (Lollipop) supports neither Android's built in lock screen Media controls nor Lock Screen Widgets. It instead shows BeyondPod's player notification directly on the Lock Screen. You can control if the player notification shows up on the lock screen in the Android Device Settings > Sounds and Notification > App Notifications
