The original developer sold the app to a new company a few years ago, I'll let you figure out which version that was but I completely agree they've let an amazing app rot in the gutter.

This feature became broken for me a few years back so I stopped using BP for podcasts, I find it really useful to get in my car and have it auto play. To each their own though!
Is it possible a bluetooth device is connecting and starting playback? For most that would be a feature (it starts when your car connects to your phone), but if one of your BT devices is registering...
I don't use BP to play podcasts anymore, but even in RSS mode there is a constant "blank" notification from BP when the app starts. It usually background kills within a few minutes for what it's...
It's just a spam account posting random keywords for search enhancement, unfortunately these boards have more spam posts than anything lately.
You're on a couple year old version of BP, maybe try...
Not who you quoted, but having the same issue on my Pixel 2XL running the latest February 2020 patch on Android 10.
Yeah, this is a pretty big bug. There is a constant blank notification that cannot be dismissed, it is created when opening the app and only disappears once android kills it as a background process....
Android should auto-play the last used media player when compatible bluetooth is connected. Googe Play Music is a good example of this.
One of the reasons I stopped using BeyondPod is this feature...
Samsung devices definitely cause more problems, but I can assure you my Pixel and Nexus phones also had this issue.
Probably 2 bugs, one caused by Samsung, one by BeyondPod. I would guess it's...
Let us know how it goes!
That's a problem I've never had/seen. Why use the cache clearing app at all? It's definitely not benefiting a modern operating system for performance, and I doubt it's bringing any meaningful storage...
Out of curiosity, have you tried the new beta? It's not called out in changelog, but I'd hope it was fixed.

You're optimistic that after a year of "development" they don't have a beta that is ready for public testing?
I'm no longer using this app for podcasting so I won't try the beta, but curious if...
Offered from where? Here's the latest beta, .33 was like 2 years ago.

It's in beta channel already, use at your own risk.
Pocket Casts is now free (without web app anyway), has cross device syncing. I don't use the sync feature, but everything else works so flawlessly I would be surprised if it didn't work well.
Did you also get the Android 10 update at that time? I saw another user said Android 10 broke scheduled updates for them.
Beyondpod is probably using an old unsupported API.

Found this after I posted, wonder if it's the culprit. Do you have links from RSS go into...
The only thing I still use BP for is as an RSS reader, and I may be close to dumping it for that.
Since my Pixel 2XL updated to Android 10 I'm getting crashes on nearly every page I visit from the...
My playlist requirements are a lot simpler than that, I just need the oldest episode from several different feeds put into a chronological list which PocketCasts does beautifully with zero issues....
Honestly I find Pocket Casts to be 90% there in playlist features, at least for how I use it. They call them filters, but they're just filtering into a playlist.
One thing I'm impressed with the SDS group is they're not hiding the fact their users are upset on their forums...
What's broken on restore? That's something I've mostly not had an issue with, at...
What version of BeyondPod?
According to this post, recently played is in the "what to play" area of the menu: http://www.beyondpod.com/forum/showthread.php?3141-recently-played-play-history-etc
...
To clarify, this is only a Samsung fix? Device care doesn't exist on any other Android devices that I know of.
Pixel phones should go:
Settings>Apps and Notifications>Advanced>Special app...
Hmm, this issue was fixed for me from what I remember on the .41 release. In Settings>Player Settings>Automatic Pause or Resume you have the first checkbox ticked?
Also, try Settings>Player...
