Unhappy Playback Error! message on ALL episodes

A few days ago I became unable to listen to any episode. Every one delivers the "Playback Error!" message with no further info. I'm on Droid X. App is up to date.

This happened to me one day a few months ago, but after updating overnight it apparently fixed itself. I've been waiting a few days hoping the same would happen again, but not this time.

Not sure what to do next...

Can you see the files in the BeyondPod/Podcasts folder in a file manager? And if so, can you play them directly using another player (e.g. Google Music)?

Are your files on internal storage or an external SD card? If external, can you take the card out and play the files on a computer? If internal, can you connect the phone to a PC as a music device and play them?

The current beta version, 3.1.12, is very stable (http://www.beyondpod.mobi/Android/BETA/Default.aspx), so you might like to try updating to that, but my initial suspicion is that there's some sort of file corruption on your device or storage card.

One simple thing you can try is just restart your device. Occasionally the Android playback infrastructure gets "confused" and refuses to play anything, or there is some issue with the SD card or driver (so episode data can't be read). Restart usually fixes both issues, so I would try that first.

    Thanks, that worked

Doh! I should have known to restart. That worked. Thanks for the reminder...

Don't feel too bad. It didn't occur to me either!
