I can confirm this problem since I updated to Kitkat (4.4):

This happens for all feeds! Right now BP is useless for me, as I cannot download any feed.

    Additional information:

I deleted a feed and added it again, now for this feed the download is working again.

    Update: No, it's not.

Well, I finally deleted all my feeds and added them again. PITA, but now it is working again.

    Klaus,

Thank you for reporting this. Most likely the issue has to do with the way SD card reports the free space for specific folders. When trying to download BP checks if the download folder has enough space to accommodate the download. It asks Android for the free space and uses whatever it tells us back. My guess is that on some devices during the upgrade to KitKat something happens to the SD card and the Android reports incorrect free space for some folders when we ask.

When you delete the feed, BP deletes the underlying folder and then recreates it when you add the feed back. Apparently when it the new folder is created, whatever issue it had is fixed and it is reporting the size correctly.

If the above assumption is correct, instead of deleting the feed, you should be able to just copy the BeyondPod folder to a different place on the SD card , delete the original folder and copy the folder back. This should recreate the entire folder tree correctly.

This may also fix issues (crashes) some people are seeing when deleting episodes as they could be caused by the same folder problem.

    Stefan
