    'Streaming not allowed' error message.

    Hi There,

Each of my downloaded podcasts now display a 'streaming not allowed' message and refuse to play. This started a couple of days ago after doing my weekly feed update of my subscription.

Any ideas what is going on and how to play my downloads?

    Many thanks in advance.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

I'm guessing you've (accidentally?) changed the Player Settings | Streaming Preferences to Never (or WiFi Only, if you're not on WiFi when you're attempting to stream)

Hi Julie and many thanks for the quick reply.

Just checked on your reply and for some reason the Streaming Preferences was indeed set to Wi-Fi only. I certainly did not alter anything from the what I assume is the default 'Always'.

Changed the setting to 'Always' but now when I hit 'Play' I am seeing a brief 'Preparing Stream...(0%)' followed by 'Playback Error!' messages.

    Sorry about this,

    Cheers, Eric.

Does it then continue to play, or is it still not playing?

If still not playing, is this restricted to one feed (or publisher) - in which case it may be a problem with their servers - or is it happening with every feed?

    Hi again Julie,

No, it refuses to play at all and is happening with all 7 of my subscriptions.

A strange thing happened last weekend when I was doing my usual weekly feed update in that when all the feeds finished updating the app seemed to do a kind of refresh and all the feed icon/pictures disappeared leaving blank icons. I hit 'update all feeds' once more and very quickly the icon pictures came back. Don't know if this is related or not? but this is when I began having these problems. Very strange.

Thanks for all your help anyway.

    Cheers,

    Eric.

Could you give us some details about your device, BeyondPod version and Android version, plus the URLs of the feeds you're getting the problem with.

    Thanks

    Hi again Julie,

Finally got the app to work. I did a complete uninstall/reinstall etc and it has now been working for a couple of days. Not the most scientific resolution but I can now listen to stuff on my cycle to/from work.

    Many thanks,

    Eric.

I guess clearing app cache from the system settings might have worked too, but glad you got it resolved, and thanks for letting us know.
