I have the same problem with BeyondPod 4.1.48 and Android Lollipop 5.0. Neither reinstalling BP nor restart & umnoumt/mount SD card works. We I choose "Move" button it shows for an instant a message related to Kit Kat and disappears, showing a new message "destination folder is unavailable or read only" .
    What can I do?

    Thanks!

That sounds as though Android is reporting your SD card to BeyondPod as Read Only. Have you confirmed (using a File Manager) that you can actually WRITE to your SD card? Try creating a new file on it. Also, from KitKat onwards, your BP folder MUST be in <sdcard>/Android/data/mobi.beyondpod for BeyondPod to have write access to it. Before KitKat, it used to be at <sdcard>/BeyondPod, but that won't work on Lollipop.

If that doesn't work, trying updating to the latest beta version of BeyondPod, which includes more SD-card related code changes, since the path to SD cards changed yet again in Marshmallow. Again, you'll need to tap on Move (or allow your storage to be moved when you first start up BP after a reboot).

    Hi Julie
    Thanks for your reply.
I can write without problems to SD card using a file explorer app. I've checked that BP app is installed on <sdcard>/Android/data/mobi.beyondpod.
Now I'm going to try last beta release 4.2.13. I hope it fix this problem. I'll explain later.

    Thanks!

Nothing has changed. After install beta, reboot, restart, unmount/mount sd card, I still have the same problem.

What does BeyondPod report as your Podcast download folder in General Settings?

    Hi Julie.
    Thanks for your help.
Podcast download folder in General settings is set to /storage/sdcard1/Podcasts. The same path is in Advanced settings.

That's why it can't write to it. From KitKat onwards, every non-system app can only write to its own private folder, which, in BeyondPod's case is <sdcard>/Android/data/mobi.beyondpod, so on your device it will have to be /storage/sdcard1/Android/data/mobi.beyondpod

See the help page at How to change the location of downloaded podcasts for how to change it.

P.S. You may just need to ignore the warning, and go ahead. Because the files are already on your SD card, it will probably be very quick and not prompt you any further.
