Thread: Password protected feed downloads appear as same episode for all

Password protected feed downloads appear as same episode for all

    http://www.artiequitter.com/podcast/feed/

Had this problem in the past also. Not sure how it got fixed in the past or just went away.

    I add the feed successfully.
Press the download button on newest one.
The downloading icon is showing for all.
Once downloaded all dates and length change to what the selected episode was.
I then have no download button on all over episodes.

    See Dropbox link to screenshots:

    Not sure what is wrong.

    Android 5.1.1
    Moto X Play
    Beyondpod 4.2.10

They all have different titles and descriptions in your screenshots. Only the date and duration appears to be the same for all.

Have they updated since you downloaded them?

The feed looks fine (although it's not complete, so we can't test it).

It may have been a temporary problem. Has it now resolved?
If not, what happens if you delete and re-add the feed?

All of a sudden I'm having this same issue, also with the Artie Quitter podcast. I hit Play on the next episode, it keeps replaying the same one I just listened to. It won't let me listen to the next episode, or any others for that matter. Things I've tried so far and the results:

1 - Hitting Play on any episode - keeps replaying the last episode again
2 - Choosing Download - says it is downloading that episode and at some point in the download changes the name to the same episode I was just listening to
3 - Removed feed and re added it - lets me play any episode and then continues the same behavior playing it over and over.
4 - Play an episode from a separate podcast and come back - same behavior as prior tests

When you hit play, it runs the play animation on all the on-screen icons of that design, and marks all the podcasts as read. It only appears to be affecting this podcast so far, but it is also the only password protected one I have. I'm on version 4.1.48, and very recently my LG G3 updated to Marshmallow. Help

We've seen similar effects before where publisher for some reason has all episodes in the feed with the same download URL. However, without a subscription to the feed, we can't tell if that's what's happening in this case. If this guess is correct, the publisher will correct this when publishing the next episode.

I am still having problems with this premium podcast feed. To get it working I have to select unique name in settings. Also sometimes there is a new podcast to download and Beyondpod will say it failed to download.

Beyondpod is doing something wrong compared to other Podcast Android apps, as with other apps never a problem:
    1) of selecting one episode to download and they all say they are downloading unless Unique name is selected in advanced settings
    2) sometimes Beyondpod will say an episode failed to download but all other apps never have a problem.
    3) sometimes I have to delete feed and re-add feed to get downloads to work again.

So there is a problem with the core of Beyondpod compared to all other Podcast apps. I am too used to Beyondpod to switch.

    Moto X Play Android 6.0

Previous Nexus 5 had same problems with this ArtieQuitter podcast, but all other apps worked fine.

So either ArtieQuitter podcast is doing something nonstandardized for RSS feeds and Beyondpod doesn't have enough logic to sort it out?

It is really frustrating that other Podcast apps do not have a problem.
