If the publisher is (correctly) using GUID in the feed, I'd expect that to work better - although if they're putting the same GUID in the feed for every episode, I'd expect that to cause problems, since the whole premise of GUID is to be unique - Globally Unique Identifier.

Force Unique names is the default for any new feed, and deals with the situation where the publisher uses the same filename for every episode. Changing that back to unique is certainly likely to be helping.

Our testing would have been done with the default settings for a new feed, which is GUID for Duplicate Episode detection, Force Unique Names enabled - which is probably the setting change that made the difference for you too.

IGNORE ABOVE - IT'S WORKING NOW

Here's how to get it running on 4.2.13.

    1. Edit feed
    2. Advanced Settings
    3. Toggle "use post title, link & publish date" under duplicate episode.
    4. Checkbox "Force Unique Names" and save
    5. Go enjoy some Artie Lange!

Thanks BP dev team! You always come through!
Wow finally the Artiequitter Podcast cast is working with beta 4.2.13 with above settings.

I can go back to Beyondpod now .

    Same here... sigh.
EVERY other podcast app I've tried works with this feed except Beyond's. Any new ideas out there as I've been trying everything i can think of to get it to work. As soon as you select an episode to download, it immediate tries to download ALL the podcasts in the feed and then fails with the - Some episodes failed to download ... - message.

Have you tried the latest beta (http://www.beyondpod.mobi/Android/BETA/)? It should be fixed in that.

Ok updated to beta 4.2.14 and not working now.

Again Beyondpod is only app that works off and on. Podcast Addict always works.

    Well I deleted feed.

This time I put the username and password in the feed address and it works now.

    What a pain.

Tried that too, deleting feed, even using the direct url from AQP tech support with username/password included and the GUID settings and the updated BPod version and still get the same errors when i try to download episode(s). I get the header info and episode summaries but the 403 forbidden error when it tries to download the actual episode.

But it all works fine with Podcast Addict. So frustrating having to use a separate app for one podcast.

    Help.....

Also, i installed BPod on my tablet to try a different device and i get the same issue. AQP tech support has given up though they were very helpful. So now I'm back here looking for any new ideas.

    Thanks in advance.
    Michael

Hi Julie. No, that sounds newer. Thanks for the link. Will let you know!

I used to get beta update alerts, but must have reset that option during a reinstall trying to fix this issue.
