Thanks for this thread! I got the app downgraded and working properly now. Been living with the train wreck that is 4.2.19 for way too long.

Thanks JohnQ, I have now reverted all of my devices to 4.2.18. I did have to use the uninstall method on my S8+ (running O beta); Nexus 5 (unlockeked BL) and 7 (rooted) over installed with no probs though. Thanks again.
Can someone help please? I'm getting this error:
e:\ADB\platform-tools>adb shell pm uninstall -k mobi.beyondpod
error: no devices/emulators found
I have my phone connected in File Transfer mode.
This is what the ADB directory looks like:

Have you been able to connect to ADB before? If not, make sure you have USB debugging enabled. You'll need to do that in Developer Mode, and to enable that you go into the Settings/About in your phone, then find the build number and click on it 8 times (I think it's 8; certainly quite a few).
Is it safe to turn auto-update on? (In play store > beyond pod > menu > auto update)
This worked perfectly. Thank you all for your reassurance at it being 'foolproof'....
Gawd that beta was awful
(only stumble I had was with ADB. "ADB devices" wouldn't work on my wife's Mac laptop - worked fine on on my Mac Mini - hooray!)

Hey guys, sorry for the layman question.
What's an adb? Could you recommend one so I can try this tutorial?
Thanks,
Paul
Hey Paul,
ADB is a PC command-line utility for accessing your Android system. It's used from the Terminal window. Requires a bit of geekiness.
If you Google "ADB Android" you'll get some info. Also this thread here, if you read it from the beginning, has links pointing to info about it.
Sorry, I don't have time to walk you through it, but this will get you started.
Cool, Thanks c.w.
Found this article on an ADB to install for anyone else that is interested:
