Killed the app as in you have to restart it?
That would be very different from what most here are experiencing, which is unintended pauses during playback.
That said, power management might play a role in the problem because I can run v4.2.41 just fine on my Samsung Galaxy Tab running Android 5, but have the pausing issue with the same version of BP on my Samsung Galaxy S7 running Android 7. Android 6 was when Android overhauled power management and introduced more power saving features.

Issue still here. Uninstalled BeyondPod after about 10 years. Sorry, installed PocketCasts, bye :-(
I have a Samsung S9+. So I was having the pausing issue in my car and then came into work where I use bluetooth headphones and BP was pausing ever few minutes. I was doing some searching and apparently the problem is Android Battery Optimization and putting apps running in the background to sleep. If you go into your settings, and then battery, then settings, then Sleeping Apps. There will be a list of apps that are put to sleep if they are running in the background. I found BeyondPod on the list. You can choose it and then click on the delete button to remove BP from the list. I am now not currently having a problem with BP running of the bluetooth headphones. I will report back if its still having a problem in the car.
Update: This also fixes the problem pausing issue I was having in the car. At this point I am having no issues at all with the app once I removed it from the Sleeping Apps list.

Anyone having pausing issues with BeyondPod: This seems to be a recent Android setting that is putting the app to sleep when the device screen is not active. You will need to go into your settings on your device to allow BeyondPod to stay awake.
Settings>device care>battery>beyond pod> then turned off "put app to sleep"
This has solved the pausing for any user who has re-set this setting on their device.
I am waiting to hear back from development on whether or not they will be able to do anything in the app coding to somehow "override" the Android setting, but either way, the above steps should fix the pausing issues everyone is having.
It's still not working - BeyondPod keeps pausingEven if the screen is on and the app is in the background! But sometimes it also runs without problems. Also rebooting or closing all other apps was no solution.
. Galaxy S9 - Android 9 - newest version
. BeyondPod 4.2.41
. App NOT in battery optimization
. Using bluetooth headphones
Please send your logs for development to take a look at your data:
To send log files, go to BP Settings>> Menu Overflow (3 dot icon in the top right corner) >> View Logs >> Choose the logs "Android" and "BeyondPod" (these steps will need to be taken for each log separately) >> Menu overflow >> Email.
Please make sure to include a brief description of your issue with each log so development knows what report to match your logs to.
The protocols from that day are not there anymore. Since then I just used BP in another scenario where it didn't happed again till now. I will send the logs when after it occurs the next time.
Well I was off BeyondPod for a while but I've been back. Good to see that BeyondPod is still offering the crappy support like it used to. Two or three years of a bug that they just can't find and fix. UGH. Keep it up guys!
