Problem Virtual Feed: storage box empty

Hi, I've been happily using BeyondPod for many years now, but I recently bought a new phone, and I have trouble setting up the virtual feed.
I go to the menu items as specified in the online help, but where I'm supposed to choose the location of the folder, the box is completely empty, blank, all white, so there's no way to navigate anywhere. So I'm stuck.
This on a OnePlus 7 pro running Android 10.
Seems like a bug to me, and would be very happy if it got smashed 😉
